Our vision at freshcut is to create a world without waste by developing and discovering sustainable resource recovery practices that can be implemented globally.
Building an Exceptional Resource Ecosystem
At Freshcut, we are committed to develop engineered solutions that can help communities and organisations achieve their green goals, including zero waste.
We call it Responsible Engineering. This begins by building an exceptional Resource Ecosystem, one that both protects the environment and sustains the local community.”
How we Help
Identify the needs of the community and propose and implement programs to collect and process materials.
Design sorting strategies, deploy a foolproof waste storage system, and establish outreach and education programs.
Build infrastructure that includes machinery and technologies to extract and sort raw materials and convert them to organic value added products.
MARKETING & COMMODITIES
Ensure that recycled commodities are sold to manufacturers that will create further recyclable consumer goods.
It was in 2013 that Augustine Libin Peous found about the industry. Mr Francis Kunjipalu and Late Mr K T Joseph helped him in understanding more about this. Francis is still the project director at Fresh Cut.
The team researched and learned more about the various technologies involved and finalised in using rendering as the preferred technology. The team also built a mock plant from Pune with the help of Mr Darekar.
The team worked on improving the design and did a lot of research in adapting the system to the varied climatic conditions of Kerala.
Decided to build the first plant at Thanarassery to treat the entire poultry waste generated in Calicut district. Started the search for the best suited land parcel. The team also spend considerable amount of time in researching on the most suitable odour management systems, matching Kerala’s poultry waste materials.
Mr Sujeesh Kolothody and Mr Shibu T joined as partners and the team together incorporating shop keepers, government bodies and the collection system into a single ecosystem.
Mr Ashok Mathai joined the team as the fourth Director. The team successfully secured the tender from Calicut Corporation, Jilla panchayath for 10 years for the collection and treatment of poultry slaughter house waste from the entire district. Shop keepers also offered unconditional support to make Calicut the first district in India to be proclaimed slaughter house waste free.
The first Fresh Cut plant starts operations at Erood, Ambayathodu, Thamarassery.
Done the right way by Fresh Cut.
Poultry Waste Management
“Freshcut treatment system is an indigenously developed technology using our expertise in the field incorporating ultra modern international machineries and resource recovery tools”
Our poultry waste management system aka “Rendering” is a process that converts waste animal tissue into stable, value-added materials. Rendering can refer to any processing of animal products and converting it into more useful materials, or more narrowly to the rendering of whole animal fatty tissue into purified fats like lard or tallow. The process simultaneously dries the material and separates the fat from the bone and protein. A rendering process yields a fat commodity (yellow grease, choice white grease, bleachable fancy tallow, etc.) and a protein meal (meat and bone meal, poultry byproduct meal, etc.).
